Erçek Gölü’nün Rekreatif Turizm Potansiyelinin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

The gradual decrease in the time people spend in the environment reveals many health problems for the humanbeing. However, the fact thatpeople in almost all parts of the world are living in cities and having to maintain the life under the pressure of a technological way of life causes destruction on emotional and mental structures as much as the physical structures. In such a case, the way to reach a healthy life for the humanbeing is to present active or passive recreational activities in a natural and rural areas. The aim of this study is to investigate and evaluate the natural resource values of Erçek Lake and its surroundings according to the methods of Gülez (1990) in terms of recreational tourism potential within the borders of the province of Van. As the result of tyhe study, it has primarily found that landscape value 29% get the highest score and secondly climate value 13% and thirdly accessibility 10%. The availability of recreational facilities has found that they were
inadequate and insufficient and the lake and its surroundings needed planning for recreational purpose.
